Despite the obligation of the measure, the Government recommends that the increase be 7% in all salary bands.
From January 1, 2023, employers are obliged to increase, at least, the salary of people who receive a fixed gross salary of less than 48,000 euros. This is how the Government has presented the revaluation of wages after the meeting of the Economic and Social Council which brings together the employer and the union. The revaluation index is based on the salary range: the highest revaluation is for those who earn the minimum wage and gradually decreases until those who earn 48,000 euros per year. The obligation is not applicable for workers who have been hired in the period of 12 months prior to the entry into force of the Law. Despite the aforementioned obligation, the Government recommends that the increase be 7% in all salary ranges.
The proposal, as announced by Jover, drops 0.5 percentage points for every 200 euros of salary. For example, people who earn between 1,200 and 1,400 euros would have a 7% increase. People earning from 1,400 to 1,600 would have a 6.5% increase, and so on.
